Serpents Eve release sophomore E.P. ‘MMXVII’

Serpents Eve - MCMXVII

Serpents Eve release their sophomore collection of instrumental Doom Metal in the winter of 2017. After the acclaimed 2015 EP, "The Slow Knife", Serpents Eve has been darkly brooding, slowly formulating the heaviest riffs possible.

In early 2017 complete "The Slow Knife" EP was taken by a scoundrel and thief, and promoted as his own work, leading to vocals being added and the resulting songs being released by a small American metal record label. Discovered after the fact, the vocalist and label owner set things right, and perpetrator was hanged by his own intestines.

This event awoke the Serpents slumber and revenge was initiated in the best possible way; by creating a follow up to The Slow Knife EP that was bigger, better and heavier.The result is MCMXVII.

Influenced by doom-metal pathfinders and underground artist alike, Serpents Eve wears the likes of Cathedral, Sleep and My Dying Bride proudly on it’s sleeve along with the emotional themes of classic horror, religion, occult, fantasy and the esoteric.

Set for an independent release 10th December 2017, MCMXVII contains four tracks of heavy doom metal.

Serpents Eve's founder Marty Robinson comments;
“Creating a Serpents Eve release is a daunting prospect, as every single aspect falls on my shoulders. The writing, playing, recording, design, release and promotion are all executed by myself and that provides a tremendous level of pressure. That is one of the many reasons why Serpents Eve lay practically dormant since the 2015 release of A Slow Knife, and while it received acclaim beyond my wildest dreams, the energy required for a follow on, just wasn't there.

In the bizarre situation that led to the theft and temporary release of the Slow Knife as another artist, I was inspired to get the Serpents Eve train rolling again.

After months of writing, rewriting, and recording and rerecording, the tracks came together.
I feel this release is stronger than The Slow Knife and I am truly proud of the achievement".

Simply brilliant, this debut by Irish instrumental doomers Serpents Eve 'The Slow Knife' (2015) calls to mind the wonderful epic motifs of doom's heritage, especially the music of Candlemass and the great doomers of the 90's.
Indeed, the Goate is well-pleased with this one. The EP is free for the asking, but I recommend you show them some love for their efforts.
Among the ‪#‎BestSoFar‬ in its genre this year. The guitars just sing, especially in the title track

"Serpents Eve, ...offer a highly addictive doom metal sound , overflowing heavy guts and oozing adrenaline.
